My experience with Magento CE
I work at 5 for years with Magento, starting from the 1.5 version until the fully revamped version 2.x, which was released recently.
At first I encountered a lot of difficulty with Magento on a daily basis, but over time I was improving and searching for good references and materials for study.
Developing complex BI modules, tax substitution calculations or customizable themes with their own panels, I discovered in Magento a passion.
And first of all, respect for this platform, which in the same way that a Ferrari is not for an Earth Road, Magento is not for a low-cost hosting.
I hope to be able to share with you on this blog my experiences and knowledge acquired over the years working with the excellent e-commerce platform, Magento CE.
In November 2015 announced the new 2.0 platform for corporate and community editions.
The imminent release of this new version sent waves through the Magento community. Some were enthusiastic about the change, while others felt that Magento 1 was still the most appropriate solution, avoiding rework.
According to statistics from the Builtwith, Magento currently holds 14% of market share (2016) for e-commerce platforms.
With the release of Magento 2, it is possible that this percentage may increase.
Experts expect the number of Magento 2 stores to grow rapidly next year, while Magento 1 is phased out.
This increase will include existing Magento 1 stores that ship to Magento 2. In addition to new stores that migrate to Magento 2 constantly, searching for the best solution available in the market.
Benefits of Magento 2
Compared to Magento 1, Magento 2 will work on average 20% faster.
Increasing the speed of the site will encourage more sales and increase the position of the store in search engine like Google.
The "Full Page Cache" storage built into the platform means that pages load much faster, 1-2 seconds compared to 5-10 seconds for pages that are not pre-saved in FPS.
The payment process in Magento 2 is more streamlined, making it quicker and easier for customers to go from cart to full order.
It is highly customizable and requires fewer steps and customer information.
Reducing order closing time is a huge step in reducing the number of abandoned carts and consequently increasing conversions.
Best admin interface
The new administration interface is designed to help reduce time spent managing an online store.
It is much easier to use and easier for new team members to learn.
The administrator can customize the admin panel so that important business information can be accessed quickly.
This makes each administration panel customized for each user to increase productivity by managing products, orders, and customer data.
More mobile friendly
Mobile responsiveness is key to improving sales as more and more customers are buying on smartphones and tablets.
The Magento developer team recognized this and made mobile responsiveness a top priority on the Magento 2 core platform.
It comes with new themes created directly (and with SEO-friendly), integrated video and easier check-out. They all enhance the look and function of Magento stores on mobile devices, driving sales on these devices.
Why is Magento 2 the future?
An ever-growing list of new extensions and themes available each day.
Robust coding architecture
Robust coding architecture focused on future improvements that will occur in the next few years in web development.
In general, the programs that Magento 2 has under the hood suggest that the company is focused on the present and also on future innovations in web design, which will benefit you and your company in the coming years.
